Welcome to the Press Conference for Round 7 of the Formula Sim-Racing World Trophy Turkish Grand Prix, Istanbul. ![]() Q: Congratulations on your fifth win of the season, how was your race? Pedro Melim: Thank you, the race was good. Had a good pace and even being 4th after start I knew I could win the race. I passed the guys in front of me quite easily until I reached Patel, from that moment I knew that passing him could be difficult [...]and it was, but on the second try I passed him for the lead and never let it go till the end of the race. Q: After Qualifying, did you still believe you could win the race? PM: Yes, I knew that my job wouldn’t be easy after that qualifying session, somehow it has been like this all season, but as we know Pole position doesn’t mean winning the race. Q: Five out of seven races you have won, surely now you are the favourite to win the championship. PM: Yes, we can say that, but it isn’t over yet, I know I got a good gap to Patel but a minor slip can compromise my championship position. Anyway I’m confident that I will win it, I just need to keep up with the good form and get points in every race. Q: Muhammed, how was your race? Muhammed Patel: Got off the line well, and lead. I was worried about Pedro after seeing him quickly get up to second. He passed me and I was able to keep up with him, but after a bit he went into another gear. After the stops I was just waiting for Lawal to attack. Knowing Melim was too far away and Teidy was also too far to pose a big threat. I got quite comfortable with defending against Lawal, who didn’t have the pace of Melim. Got home second which was good. Q: Are you disappointed with second? MP: Well…To be thirteen seconds off the lead, after leading the race was disappointing. I knew it would be hard to win but I would have hoped to be closer to Melim, and be able to lead the race for longer. Q: What do you think your car was lacking? MP: Not a lot really, we were only a bit off the pace of Precision this weekend. I was similar pace to Melim in the first stint, and Teidy was similar in the second. We are faster in Qualifying, but they are faster in the race. Just gain like a tenth or two and we will be able to be a even bigger threat to Precision in the races. Q: Aji, how was your race? Ajibola Lawal: It was not very good. Q: Are you disappointed with third? AL: Yes… Q: After your points deduction, do you still think you can battle for the title? AL: Well…we will see.. The next race of the World Trophy takes place this Sunday at 12:00GMT, Live on MultiBC. |
