Bengtsson leads the World Series field
Joakim Bengtsson has taken his first victory of the season, by winning in Barcelona, Spain. It was Twister-Racing's first win of the World Series season after a difficult start to the year. Petter Kaasa was 2nd and Cyril Werdmuller finished 3rd.
Samuel Libeert took pole position in an extremely tight qualifying session, ahead of the Twister-Racing cars of Euler and Bengtsson. Libeert's lead was short-lived however, as Bengtsson leapt into 1st position at the first corner and controlled the race from then on. Kaasa pushed Bengtsson as hard as he could but eventually had to settle for 2nd, with Werdmuller taking 3rd. Championship leader Mattias Stahre brought his damaged Precision Motorsports car home in 4th, with Euler in 5th and Tramosljika taking 6th. De Matos finished 7th, Martinez was 8th, Libeert took 9th and Nelmes was 10th.
The next events from Spain will come on Sunday, the World Trophy (12:00GMT)
and the AutoGP World Championship (18:00GMT), live on MultiBC!
