At the half-point of the winter break the finishing pieces of the team's lineup puzzle are forming. Today the team was pleased to announce the signing of Cyril Werdmuller and Pedro Melim to extend the already strong lineup in the lower categories. Werdmuller will take the seat in the brand new FSR World Series category, where the Dutch is expected to continue delivering strong performances from where he left off in the Pro division, finishing second in the 2009 season finale.
The second former Torrent Motorsports acquired driver 'Predo' Melim had a strong season in Ama, including race victories and a 2nd championship overall. The Portuguese raced with an increasing pace during his debut year and no doubt will he continue with that in the Precision colours, racing in the new World Trophy division.
After these moves, the team remains looking for one WS and one WC driver to complete its line-up for 2010.
Cyril Wedmuller commented: "First of all I’m really glad that I signed a contract at Precision Motorsports. My good results in the Pro series where noticed and I did get an opportunity to drive for PM in the World Series which I couldn’t resist! The team is very professional and with a strong line up I am confident that good results will be achieved."
Pedro Melim commented: "It is a big honour to be racing for Precision Motorsports and I will try my best to help them achieve their goals in the 2010 season. Last year I had a great season as I clinched the teams championship and was able to finish 2nd in the individual championship. This year that isn't an easy task, but I will try my best. I would like to improve my racing, try to be as fast as I can, and be consistent as I was 2009. With some of the best drivers in FSR by my side in Precision Motorsports I will take this oportunity to learn from them to improve my driving abilities and become a better driver, being able to race at WC and fight for the win at that level."
Teammanager Ondrej Kuncman commented: "Huge motivation would be the main characteristics for both, Pedro and Cyril. They are looking to further expand their driving abilities and aim only for the highest positions. In Precision Motorsports I believe we can help them to develop in the necessary areas. We have still a few seats empty. That means we still have to keep working hard in this area, but nevertheless I am happy we signed Cyril with Pedro and I am confident they won't disappoint us."
