Torrent Motorsports made good progress in 2009 in the Ace division. After finishing 8th in the standings in 2007 and 10th in 2008, improvements were clearly needed. The 2009 season started strongly, the team was instantly competitive and it seemed they would fight with Twister and Roaldo for the Ace title.

Roaldo Racing came into the season as reigning champions and naturally began the year with high expectations. The Dutch team has dominated the Ace division in recent years, having won 5 out of the 6 titles since the beginning of the rFactor era. However, the team struggled to repeat this success in 2009 and was beaten to both titles by Twister-Racing.

It's hard to know where to begin to describe the record-breaking 2009 season of Twister-Racing. 16 out of 17 wins is probably a good way to start.
The World Series Ace field rush into turn one
Karol Poniatowski has won the final round of World Series Ace with a commanding drive in Brazil. The Twister-Racing driver made an exceptional start to leap ahead of pole-sitter Fred Gosling and controlled the race from there after to take Twister's 16th win of the season. Rasmus Tali pushed Poniatowski as hard as he could but had to settle for 2nd place, with a strong drive for Joakim Bengtsson earning him the final place on the podium.
